Three AC-REP Investors Named as Finalists for New ERA Investment
Opportunity to advance the energy infrastructure in Adams County!
We’re excited to share that three of our investors were recently named as finalists for the United States Department of Agriculture’s New ERA Funding program: CORE Electric Cooperative, Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc., and United Power. The Empowering Rural Project (New ERA) is part of the Inflation Reduction Act and represents the largest investment in rural electrification since 1936. The goal is to help rural Americans transition to clean, affordable, and reliable energy.
If awarded, the funds will be used in a multitude of ways, including:
- The procurement of renewable energy sources in the form of wind, solar and batteries. Learn more about CORE Electric’s plan here.
- The retirement of coal-fired generation in Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico to increase renewable energy sources and battery storage across rural portions of the West. Learn more about Tri-State’s plan here.
- The offset of costs to transition to a strategic, clean energy portfolio, including power purchase agreements that will provide more than 760 megawatts of renewable resources. Learn more about United Power’s plan here.
