AURORA, Colo. (August 24, 2023) – Fitzsimons Innovation Community and Aimco (NYSE: AIV) announce their commitment to continuing the development of Fitzsimons Innovation Community as a world-class center dedicated to advancing life sciences innovation. In advancement of a shared vision to create a dynamic live, work, play destination, a new apartment community and state-of-the-art life sciences building are currently being planned.

The new life sciences component, Bioscience 4, will be located on a five-acre site owned by Fitzsimons Innovation Community directly across the street from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, home to Colorado’s brightest minds and game-changing research, education, and patient care. With life sciences facilities a high-value need across the country, Bioscience 4 will deliver lab space supporting startups, growth, and commercial companies alike. Designed for quick expansion and flexibility to respond to market needs, the development’s first phase is planned to include a 230,000-square-foot facility with the ability to scale up to 800,000 square feet through future phases.

The apartment community will be situated across the street from Bioscience 4 and located on land owned by Aimco. It will target researchers, medical professionals, and entrepreneurs and include robust amenities and functional modern design. The new residential building will be the third of five phases outlined in Aimco’s master development agreement for Fitzsimons Innovation Community.

This announcement reflects the evolution of a long-standing track record of successful collaboration between Fitzsimons Innovation Community and Aimco. The two organizations previously worked together to build ~500,000 square feet of life sciences, residential, and living amenities.
