Solid Power, a Louisville-based company developing a new kind of electric vehicle batteries, has hired an executive with experience building businesses that manufacture new technology to become its next CEO.

The 12-year-old business hired John Van Scoter, who has a background developing technology at Texas Instruments, to be Solid Power’s president, CEO and board member. He is scheduled to start on June 14, ending a six-month search for a permanent top executive.
