Colorado Fair Chance Hiring Two-Day Cohort

Manufacturer's Edge has partnered with Jobs for the Future & Breakthrough Alliance of Colorado to host an upcoming Fair Chance Corporate Cohort for Colorado companies interested in learning more about hiring talent with records through Fair Chance Futures of Colorado, a 3-year initiative that is supporting and upskilling more than 400 incarcerated Coloradans who are soon releasing into the community.
This FREE, in-person, Fair Chance Corporate Cohort will take place on April 27-28 and is eligible for seven SHRM Professional Development Credits. Here’s a breakdown on what attendees can expect:
Day 1: Instructor-Led & Peer Learning (April 27, 8 AM to 3 PM at Candy Factory Coworking Space, 1512 Curtis Street in Denver)
- Workshops covering:
- The business case for fair chance employment
- Change management/cultivating stakeholder buy-in
- Assessing risk/updating background check policies
- How to recruit, hire, onboard, and support talent with records
- Communicating fair chance policies internally and externally
- Networking with other companies that are exploring or committed to fair chance employment
- Breakfast, lunch, and snacks included
Day 2: Experiential Learning (April 28, 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM, Centennial Correctional Facility)
- Site visit to experience Breakthrough’s programming at Centennial Correctional Facility and conduct mock interviews with program participants
- Bus pickup at Candy Factory Coworking Space at 6:30 AM and drop off at 6:30 PM
- Bus is Wi-Fi equipped such that attendees can answer emails during the trip
- Breakfast, lunch, and snacks included
